White Pony Express
Asserting that “In this most materially blessed nation on Earth, no one should want for food, clothing, shelter, or other basic necessities of life”, in 2013 Murshida Conner created and developed the “White Pony Express” programs that work to redistribute our abundant surplus of material wealth to those most in need. In 2014, WPE became an independent non-affiliated 501(c)(3) organization. Today WPE volunteers, staff, and board include people from throughout the broader community.
The White Pony Express food rescue program picks up close to 7,000 pounds of nutritious surplus food every day from markets and delivers it free to those who feed the hungry. A companion program, the White Pony General Store and its Mobile Boutique, brings donated items to neighborhoods in need and has given away more than 500,000 articles of attractive clothing, toys and children’s books. A third program, the White Pony Inn, helps people facing overwhelming challenges to regain balance in their lives.
